The Echuca Mini: Saturday 11 October 2003

The Echuca Mini is a 50km course along the Murray River. The race starts at Barmah Bridge (Checkpoint B, Day 3 of the Red Cross-Herald Sun Murray Marathon, Vic Roads Map 31 H2) and concludes at Victoria Park Boat Ramp (Vic Roads Map 266 E2).

Two checkpoints will be in operation to guide paddlers on the day. Land crews should refer to directions listed for Day 3 of the Red Cross-Herald Sun Murray Marathon.

$25 per full distance paddler
$20 per relay and junior paddler

The Barwon Mini: Saturday 18 October 2003

Beginning at the Geelong Canoe Club, the Barwon Mini is a 32km course, paddled over an 8km section of the Barwon River. Like the Murray River, the Barwon is generally flat and slow, therefore providing an ideal preparation for the Marathon.

Support is provided from the Australian Red Cross First Aid and local Safety and Community Groups.

The Red Cross Yarra Challenge: Sunday 19 October 2003

Join the excitement as hundreds of business and community spirited individuals take part in one of Melbourne's premier corporate sporting events - the Red Cross Yarra Challenge.

A series of 500m relay canoe races, the Red Cross Yarra Challenge all starts and ends on the waters of the Yarra River at Henley Landing, right in the heart of Melbourne. Teams of four, two individuals in each canoe, representing their corporate or community organisation paddle through a series of elimination rounds to decide who will compete in the final of one of three categories and be in with a chance to win the Corporate Cup, the Lord Mayor's Cup or the Dunant Cup.
